When Great Plains College launched its Growing the Future scholarship campaign in 2007, it decided early on that there was no sense aiming low. The goal then was set to raise $500,000 for the GPC scholarship program in five years. There is still work to be done but, a little over four years later, the campaign is well on track to reach its ambitious target.

Coming off its most successful fundraising year yet, Growing the Future has netted nearly $426,000 in new scholarship money. That has meant academic and athletic scholarships for over 350 students

Funds are raised through Board and Staff Donations, fundraising events, and principally through business and individual donors in the Great Plains College Region.

How does your donation help?

• Growing the student scholarship fund will create more opportunities for our young people to get their education without leaving the region
• Retaining our youth for training and employment in the region strengthens our future
• Your donations will be used to fund scholarships for the more than 2000 students we serve each year

Since 2006, Great Plains College has given out more than $350,000 in scholarships. In the 2010-11 academic year alone $170,000 was awarded to deserving and dedicated students.
