Part-time students are allowed to begin their studies and complete eight "Open Access" courses as unclassified students. After these eight classes, students must register with SIAST and meet the Grade 12 or GED requirement. Criminal records check is required for practicum placement.
The Educational Assistant Certificate program prepares students for employment in the K-12 school system as support staff to classroom teachers.
