Great Plains College has established the Ukrainian Student Emergency Relief Bursary to provide funding assistance to Ukrainian students whose continued education is at risk due to unexpected financial challenges during the war on the Ukraine. It may be provided to students who demonstrate urgent financial need.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, you must provide proof of Ukrainian citizenship and have arrived in Canada within the timeframe of September 1, 2020-September 1, 2022. You must also be enrolled as a student in a full or part-time program at Great Plains College.
Bursary Levels
Full-time students*
- Full-time students that are enrolled (2022-23) in a post-secondary program will be eligible for a one-time payment of $2,000
- Full-time international students that are enrolled (2022-23) in a post-secondary program will be eligible for a one-time payment of $3,000.
- Full-time students that are enrolled (2022-23) in an Adult Basic Education, English as a Second Language or Essential Skills program will be eligible for a one-time payment of $1,000
Part-time students*
- Students that are enrolled (2022-23) in a part-time, post-secondary program (only) will be eligible for a one-time payment of $500.
- Part-time students that are enrolled (2022-23) in an Adult Basic Education, English as a Second Language or Essential Skills program will be eligible for a one-time payment of $500.
*NOTE: Students currently enrolled in 2022-23 must be fully accepted to their program prior to being considered for the bursary. “Fully accepted” means that you have paid your tuition deposit and have received a letter of acceptance for your program.

To apply, please download the application form below, complete it and return it by email to development@greatplainscollege.ca by October 31, 2022. Limited funds are available, so if you are in need, please apply as soon as possible. The successful applicants will be notified by email in November 2022.
