For the 2018-19 academic year, you are automatically considered for an Entrance Scholarship when you apply to a full-time student loan-eligible program before the scholarship deadline (see below).
You must pay your $55 application fee and submit your most current transcripts for your application to be considered.

Entrance Scholarships ($500)
Entrance Scholarships of $500 are available to full-time student-loan eligible students in:
- Carpentry and Production Line Welding
- Certificate in Health, Safety and Environmental Processes
- Diploma in Safety, Health and Environmental Management
- Practical Nursing
Grade-based Entrance Scholarships ($500-$5,000)
Grade-based scholarships up to a maximum total of $5,000 are available to full-time student-loan eligible students in:
- Administrative Assistant
- Business (certificate and Human Resources or Management diploma)
- Carpentry and Production Line Welding
- Power Engineering
- Social Work
- Youth Care Worker
2018-19 Grade-based Entrance Scholarship Levels
Note: Entrance Scholarship grade average is calculated based on marks from 30-level Canadian studies and English classes, and the highest achieved marks from 20 or 30-level math and science classes. Some exceptions may apply.
Entrance Scholarship Deadlines:
Apr. 30 – deadline for September entry
Oct. 31 – deadline for late fall and winter program start dates
Feb. 28 – deadline for spring program start dates
The fine print for Entrance Scholarships:
In order to be eligible for an entrance scholarship your application must be received by April 30, 2018, for September 2018 program start dates and October 31, 2018, for late fall and winter program start dates, or February 28, 2019 for spring program start date. This includes your Great Plains College Certificate & Diploma programs application or Great Plains College university application form, your application fee and a copy of your most recent transcript.
Innovation Credit Union Community Innovator Award
The Community Innovator Award is sponsored by Innovation Credit Union. Students are invited to submit innovative and implementable community engagement ideas. Up to two awards of $2,000 each will be provided to applicants who contribute unique, creative and possible ideas. Students must be enrolled in or accepted to a full-time student, loan-eligible program to be considered.
Competition is closed for 2018-19.
Living Sky Casino Indigenous Adult Basic Education (ABE) Persistence Award
The Indigenous ABE Persistence Award is provided by Living Sky Casino and Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Association (SIGA). This award is designed to recognize the perseverance of individuals in the Indigenous community by offering monetary awards to students who have demonstrated their dedication to pursuing further education at Great Plains College. A total of four awards of $500 will be provided annually for students actively enrolled in either the Grade 12/Upgrading or Pre-12 programs at the Maple Creek or Swift Current campuses.
SREDA Indigenous Economic Development Scholarship (SIEDS)
The Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority (SREDA), Saskatchewan First Nations Economic Development Network (SFNEDN) and Great Plains College are proud to offer a new scholarship for indigenous students: the SREDA Indigenous Economic Development Scholarship (SIEDS).
Students who qualify for this annual scholarship can receive up to $5,000 toward their education in the Master of Business Administration in Community Economic Development program in their first or second year of study. SREDA has invested a total of $10,000 to be spread across four academic years. The Government of Saskatchewan has matched this investment to total $20,000 as part of their Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Scholarship funding.
