Great Plains College expands programming with addition of Business diploma program

Thursday, October 3, 2019

WARMAN, SK – Great Plains College is pleased to announce a two-year Business diploma with a specialization in management has been added to the list of full-time programs offered at Great Plains College Warman Campus.

The Business diploma builds on the certificate program and successful graduates of the certificate program may transfer directly into the full-time or part-time diploma program to continue their studies. New students will have the option to apply directly to the two-year diploma program.

“The addition of this program is a natural extension from the Business certificate program we currently offer and we’re pleased to provide students with an opportunity to continue their studies right in Warman,” said Jill Jenkins, region manager at Great Plains College.

Applications for September 2020 entry are currently being accepted for both the Business certificate and Business diploma programs. Any student currently enrolled in the Business certificate program in the 2019-20 academic year will have the option to transfer into the Business diploma program and begin their second-year studies next September.

“This diploma is brokered through Saskatchewan Polytechnic, giving students the exact same education and credentials they would receive at a Saskatchewan Polytechnic campus, but in a smaller, more supportive environment,” said Jenkins. “Students who complete the diploma program will also have the option to transfer directly into a Business degree program at the University of Regina or Saskatchewan, which is a great opportunity for those wanting to continue their education.”

Anyone who applies to the full-time Business certificate or diploma program before April 30, 2020 is automatically considered for an Entrance Scholarship of $500-$5,000. Grade 11 students who apply before June 30, 2020 will also be eligible for an additional Early Entrance Award of $1,000.
