Great Plains College set to host the second ‘Great Plates’ fundraising event

Tuesday, February 25, 2025

Warman, SK – Great Plains College is pleased to announce it will once again be hosting ‘Great Plates: An Evening of Food & Entertainment with Great Plains College’. The second annual fundraising event will be held Friday, April 4, 2025 at the Brian King Centre.

The evening will feature a three-course meal prepared and served by Great Plains College Hotel and Restaurant Management students, a wine and beer bar, a raffle table and entertainment brought to you by Saskatoon Dueling Pianos. All proceeds from the event will go toward the scholarship fund.

“In the past few years, the college has seen significant growth in its footprint in the community of Warman, including the introduction of the inaugural ‘Great Plates’ event last April, which was established to showcase some of the great things happening within our programs, while raising funds for our scholarship program,” said Brad Mahon, president and CEO at Great Plains College. “The event was very well received and we look forward to once again bringing the community, partners and supporters of the college together for an evening of great food and entertainment.”

The menu for the evening will feature a starter salad with watermelon, radishes, mixed greens and glazed paneer; monkfish with herbs and brown butter beurre blanc or flank steak with a creamy peppercorn sauce for the main; and a decadent chocolate lava cake with crème glaze, strawberry curd and delicate caramel shards to finish.

“Our Hotel and Restaurant Management students, led by instructor Trevor Robertson, are ready and eager to showcase the skills they’ve been mastering in the second year of their diploma program. We hope to have a full house in April to enjoy the ‘Great Plates’ event with us,” added Mahon.

Tickets are on sale now for $60 each or $400 for a table of 8 and can be purchased by stopping by the Warman Campus, phoning 306-242-5377 or emailing claudinet@greatplainscollege.ca.
