SWIFT CURRENT: Registration for the SunDogs Wooff Volleyball Camps is now open and limited spots are available. The two-day skill development camps will focus on athlete growth—on and off the court.
Students going into grades six to eight can register for the August 12-13 camp, and students going into grades 9 to 12, or attending Great Plains College, can register for the August 14-15 camp.
“The SunDogs WOOFF Volleyball Camp is a great opportunity for athletes to improve their game and learn from experienced coaches,” said Mona Patterson, SunDogs athletics and recreation coordinator. “Spots are limited, so we’re encouraging anyone who is interested to register as soon as possible.”
Registration for the camp is $100 and registration forms, along with more information, can be found at www.greatplainscollege.ca/wooff. Jr. SunDogs Club members will receive a 50 per cent discount on registration fees.
Coaches for the camp include: Alex Bell-Moratto, who has coached in Europe and Canada and has played in Holland, Denmark and for Dalhousie University, and Nic Dubinsky, who has played for SAIT, Lethbridge College and Red Deer College (provincial and national title) and in Sweden.
Registered dietician, Paige Hayes, and personal trainer, Karla Cairns, will also be providing valuable sessions on nutrition and training for the athletes.
