Great Plains College hosts 6th Annual Charity Golf Tournament

Tuesday, May 22, 2018

BIGGAR, SK – Registrations have officially opened for the 6th Annual Great Plains College Charity Golf Tournament presented by Biggar & District Credit Union. The tournament will take place June 22, 2018 at the Biggar Golf Club.

Teams of four will play 18 holes, Texas Scramble style. The first nine holes are Par 3, with hole-in-one prizes at each hole. Prizes will also be available for closest-to-the-pin and longest drive.

“We look forward to this event every year,” said Cindy Keith, program coordinator at the Great Plains College Biggar Program Centre. “It’s an opportunity to bring the community together for a fun afternoon of golf in support of Great Plains College.”

Registration for the tournament is $80 per person and includes a steak supper and a $35 charitable receipt; the early bird deadline is $75 for anyone who registers by May 30. Anyone interested in golfing in the tournament can register at Great Plains College Biggar Program Centre (701 Dominion St) or by calling 306-948-3363.

All proceeds will go to scholarships and operations for the Carpentry and Production Line Welding, Electrician and Practical Nursing programs in Biggar and Rosetown.

“We’re able to run this event for the sixth consecutive year thanks to the tremendous contributions from our local businesses, community and alumni,” Keith added. “We’re grateful for the ongoing support for our programs and students, and can’t wait to see everyone on June 22.”

A special thanks to this year’s presenting sponsor, Biggar & District Credit Union, along with Shop Easy, Hannigan’s Hamburgers, NAPA Auto Parts, Royal Bank of Canada and JDL Underground Ltd. for their contributions.

Further sponsorship opportunities are still available for the tournament. Any businesses or individuals that would like to be involved as a sponsor can contact Great Plains College Biggar Program Centre at 306-948-3363 or biggar.office@greatplainscollege.ca.
