Living in residence can enhance your academic success and overall campus experience. Follow the steps below to apply.
Who can apply?
You are eligible to apply for a space in student residence if you are:
• Accepted into or registered in a Great Plains College program
• Able to live independently or with approved supports
How to Apply
1.Complete the online application
Applications are submitted online through Microsoft Forms. Please click here to complete the application form.
Applications open May 15, 2026 and the priority deadline to apply is June 22, 2026. Applications received after June 22 will be considered if space is available.
Before you begin your application form, please have the following ready:
• Personal contact information
• Emergency contact details
• Program name
You will also be asked a few short questions about:
• Personal or academic circumstances
• Accessibility needs or accommodation needs
• How residence will support your studies
All information is confidential and used only for residence admissions decisions.
2. Submit Your Application
- Review your responses carefully before submitting
- You will receive an automatic confirmation email to confirm receipt of your application
If you do not receive a confirmation, contact Student Services by email or phone 306-773-1531.
3. Pay the Application Fee
A non-refundable $75 application fee is required. Please call the Swift Current Campus at 306-773-1531 or stop by campus to pay the application fee in order for your application to be considered complete.
How Applications are Reviewed
Applications are reviewed by the Residence Admissions Committee using a fair and consistent process. Decisions are based on:
- Eligibility and completeness of the application
- Residence capacity
- Priority factors (e.g., distance from campus, program length, returning students, demonstrated need)
- Information provided in your application
Application Decisions
You will be notified of the college's decision by the last week of June via the email address provided in your online application form. Possible outcomes include:
- Offer of Residence – Instructions will be included to secure your space, including:
- Accepting your offer by the stated deadline
- Completing the Residence Lease Agreement
- Confirming review of the Residence Code of Conduct
- Submitting your deposit - Waitlist – You may be offered a space if one becomes available
- Not Approved – Due to limited space or eligibility
Important Notes
- Applying early improves your chances but does not guarantee admission
- Incomplete applications may not be reviewed
- Providing false or misleading information may result in your offer being withdrawn
