Fall Protection for Rig Work (Energy Safety Canada) - 2 days
Course Description
This 2-day training course was developed in conjunction with the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC) and is intended for workers and other personnel involved in drilling and service rig operations.
This course includes both classroom and hands-on training.
What You'll Learn

- Anchorages, body support devices, connecting components and devices, and lifelines
- Ladder-climbing techniques
- Climbing to a height using fall protection equipment
- Work positioning
- Anchorage connection and transfer between fall protection systems
Requirements
Participants must:
- Be in good physical condition and able to climb to a height of approximately four meters
- Bring their own PPE, including:
- Hard hat with chin strap
- Steel-toed boots
- Fire-resistant coveralls
- Work gloves
- Protective eyewear
- Hearing protection
