H2S Alive Blended Renewal (ESC)
Course Description
This H2S Alive Blended Renewal allows students with a non-expired Energy Safety Canada H2S Alive certificate to renew their certification through a two-part process:
- Part 1: 3-hour Energy Safety Canada online course
- Part 2: 30-minute Skills Assessment with a certified instructor at Great Plains College
Skills assessments are available at the conclusion of regular H2S Alive courses.

Requirements
- Hold a non-expired Energy Safety Canada H2S Alive certificate
- Complete the online course before the Skills Assessment
- Achieve a minimum 70% on the online examination
- Be able to put on a mask and breath under air
- Be able to participate in rescue drag techniques
- Wear sturdy footwear and clothing suitable for the practical assessment
- Have government-issued photo ID
- Have a supported computer, web browser, stable internet connection, webcam and speakers
Online course requirements: The online portion must be purchased and accessed before your current H2S certification expires. Students have 90 days to complete the online course from purchase and 90 days to complete the Skills Assessment after completing the online course.
Certification
Successful completion of the online course and Skills Assessment results in a Certificate of Completion valid for 3 years.
