Application Process

Online Application

Only after you submit your application will it be available for review by our admission staff. Please note that it will not be processed until we receive transcripts.

Transcripts

In order for your application to be assessed for admission we require your official high school and/or post-secondary transcripts. If you are presently in high school you must provide a preliminary statement of high school marks signed by a school official. You have the option of doing so by mail, or in person.

Fee Payment

In order for your application to be assessed for admission, we require a $75.00 CAD non-refundable application fee payable to Great Plains College. This fee applies to all post-secondary programs, with the exception of University. There is no application fee required for the University program. In order to complete this online application, you must pay online with Visa or Mastercard at the end of this application. If you wish to pay by mail, over the phone, or in person, please download the paper application form.

Confirmation

After we receive your online application, transcripts and application fees, we will be able to process your application. You will receive a confirmation email and will be contacted within three business days of your application being successfully processed. If you have applied to a program and have NOT been contacted by a student adviser, please immediately contact the location you have applied to.

Personal Information

Citizenship

If you are not a Canadian citizen, you will need to provide a copy of your permit. If you are on a study permit, you are required to use the Saskatchewan Colleges international online application form.
Great Plains College collects your Social Insurance Number for the purpose of issuing tax receipts.

Great Plains College Scholarships

Students accepted into full-time post-secondary programs at Great Plains College are considered for a scholarship with this application. Your transcripts from your most recently completed education (stated above) are required. Adult Basic Education is considered a secondary program and ABE students (Adult 10/GED, Essential Skills, Grade 12/Upgrading) are not eligible for Great Plains College scholarships.

You must apply by the following dates to be considered for a scholarship:

  • October 31 - winter program start dates
  • April 30 - fall program start dates

Providing the following information will help determine if you are eligible for various funding options. 

Visible minority may include people other than Aboriginal or Caucasian individuals who are of African, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Pacific Islander, East Asian, Southeast Asian, West Asian, Arab or Latin American ancestry.

In accordance with applicable laws, Great Plains College collects, uses and discloses your personal information to carry out its operations and to provide services to you (for example, to provide you with academic programming and other related services) in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

Consent to Use Personal Image and Information

This form authorizes Great Plains College to use your personal image and limited personal information for marketing and promotional purposes related to the college. These may include, but are not limited to, brochures, newspaper and website advertising, television, radio and multimedia productions for Great Plains College. A personal image may include photographs and audio or video recordings. Personal information may include your testimonial, college program and location and year of graduation. This activity is conducted under the authority of the Regional Colleges Act 1988, which mandates the provision of adult education programs and services to the residents of Saskatchewan. Your personal image and information will be used in a manner consistent with the privacy provisions of the Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. To request your image and information not be used as outlined above, please phone the Communications Unit at 1(866) 296-2472 extension 5475.

Registration

Your application is not considered complete until Great Plains College receives your required education transcripts and a non-refundable $75.00 CAD application fee. Please include any other relevant documents required. A Great Plains College representative will contact you within 2 business days. If you have not been contacted in that time, or if you have any questions about your application, please contact Great Plains College (information listed below). Please advise Great Plains College of any future changes of address or status, or if you wish to withdraw your application.
