Learn the fundamental skills that are necessary for modern agriculture operations, specifically focusing on crop production.

Entrance Requirements

  • Grade 12 with a minimum 50% in English A30 and B30, Foundations 20 or Pre-Calculus 20, and any 20 level core science
  • English language requirement

This is a blended learning program. All theory will be delivered by synchronous live video and labs will be delivered in-person.

With courses ranging from record keeping and innovative technology, to practical field skills, your knowledge of crop production will prepare you to grow your career in the agriculture industry.

Career Opportunities

You'll be prepared to begin your career in a farming operation or to work in the retail agriculture sector. You may also continue your education and transfer into the second year of the Crop Technology Diploma program at Lakeland College where you will expand your knowledge of agronomy, production, precision farming and financial management, along with hands-on experience gained through a practicum or Lakeland's student-managed farm. 

Earning Potential

In 2022, the wage for Agricultural representatives, consultants, and specialists in Saskatchewan was $26.71-$62.50/hour, according to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Immigration and Career Training. Employees may earn more or less depending on their employer, location, size of company, training, experience and hours worked.

Scholarship Eligible

Apply as a full-time student before April 30 and you will be automatically considered for a $500–$5,000 Entrance Scholarship.
