Course Description

This two-day training course was developed in conjunction with the  Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC). The  course is intended for workers and other personnel involved in drilling  and service rig operations. Topics include fall protection  principles, anchorages, body support devices, connecting components and  devices, life lines and ladder-climbing techniques. The hands-on  portion of the training includes climbing to a height using fall  protection equipment, work positioning anchorage connection and transfer  between fall protection systems. Successful completion of the course  requires that participants be in good physical condition and be able to  climb to a height of approximately four metres.

NOTE:  Participants are required to bring their own PPE  including a hard hat  (with chin strap), steel-toed boots, fire resistant coveralls, work  gloves, protective eyewear and hearing protection.
