Pesticide Applicator

These courses provide knowledge of safe and effective pesticide application and pest control as required under the Pest Control Products (Saskatchewan) Act.  The course content covers areas such as Label Information, Personal Hazards, Protective Clothing and Equipment, Environmental Hazards, Safe Use and Handling, Emergency Procedures, and Federal and Provincial Legislation.

Red Cross Babysitter's Course

Red Cross Babysitting Course

Course Date:  Friday January 31, 2020 *There is no school this day*

Age Requirement:  Participants must be 11 years of age by the course date or must have completed Grade 5

Course Time:  9 am - 5 pm

Location:  Great Plains College, Biggar

Maximum Enrolment:  30 participants

Students will learn these important skills:

Integrated Clinical Practice 2

Your experiential learning will provide you with an opportunity to plan safe and competent patient care while working in partnership with a Licensed Practical Nurse. You will manage patient care with increased interdependence and confidence, demonstrating enhanced organization, decision making, and critical thinking. You will demonstrate reflective practice in relation to lifelong learning. You will establish collaborative relationships, using professional communication, and demonstrate respect for diversity and ethical practice. 

Variations in Health 2

You will examine variations in health and common chronic conditions diagnosed in the adult population. You will apply knowledge of anatomy and pathophysiology to explore health challenges affecting body systems. You will examine the diagnostic findings, nursing interventions and treatments associated with specific health challenges. With guidance, you will apply the nursing process, promote safety, aooly critical thinking, and use evidence informed practice to deliver holistic nursing care.

Practicum 4 (ECE)

You will gain competence in working with children, families and communities in early learning and childcare education programs. You will complete the second of two practicums in one of the following specialized areas: infant, toddler, diverse needs, frontline educator and administrative.

You will gain competence in working with children, families and communities in early learning and childcare education programs. You will complete the first of two practicums in one of the following specialized areas: infant, toddler, diverse needs, frontline educator and administrative.
