You will use play theory to create and analyze developmentally appropriate indoor and outdoor play in early learning environments. You will examine play-based programs, resources, and indigenous ways of knowing in early learning environments.
Autism Spectrum Disorder in Early Learning Environments
This introductory course will provide information on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You will study the characteristics of ASD, the diagnostic criteria as well as the historical and social implications of this diagnosis. You will also be introduced to evidence-based interventions and personal program planning for supporting children with ASD.
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
You will be introduced to theory and equipment used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (HVAC). You will study heating, ventilation and air conditioning, humidification, duct design, lighting, water supply and sanitary drainage systems.
Steam Generation (Third & Second Class)
You will study various types of steam generators. You will study boiler construction, operating procedures, firing equipment and control systems. You will study inspection methods required for safe pressure vessel operation. You will study how large centrifugal pumps are installed and operated for various boiler designs.
Personal Finance
You will explore concepts related to planning and managing personal finances while developing applied quantitative skills essential for sound financial decision-making. You will learn fundamental mathematical concepts used in personal finance. Your studies cover banking, deposit accounts, investing, tax and retirement planning, personal credit, insurance, and estate planning. You will also apply time value of money in every applicable aspect of the course and evaluate interest rates.
