What You Will Learn

In this hands-on program you’ll gain the skills you need for a career in a high volume welding production environment such as a shop or on an assembly line. You’ll focus on the gas metal arc (MIG) welding process, while also learning about blue print reading, cutting processes and trade safety.

Career Opportunities

Welders are employed by companies that manufacture structural steel and platework, boilers, heavy machinery, aircraft and ships and other metal products. You could also continue your training through apprenticeship as a semi-automatic welding production operator.

Earning Potential

In 2022, the wage estimates for full-time welders and related machine operators in Saskatchewan was $20.00-$41.50 per hour, according to the Saskatchewan Ministry of Immigration and Career Training. Employees may earn more or less depending on their employer, location, size of company, apprenticeship training, experience and hours worked. TEST
