You will use play theory to create and analyze developmentally appropriate indoor and outdoor play in early learning environments. You will examine play-based programs, resources, and indigenous ways of knowing in early learning environments.
Autism Spectrum Disorder in Early Learning Environments
This introductory course will provide information on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). You will study the characteristics of ASD, the diagnostic criteria as well as the historical and social implications of this diagnosis. You will also be introduced to evidence-based interventions and personal program planning for supporting children with ASD.
Rock Truck Operation
On an actual work site under supervision, you will operate a rock truck to perform construction tasks and will learn and practice basic skills. You will perform daily safety inspection and routine maintenance on the machine and will have opportunity to operate and to observe on the machine.
